Join Macmahon as a Specialist Roving Trainer & Assessor, reporting to the Surface Mining Training Superintendent. This role partners with operational leaders and site trainers to deliver targeted training solutions that improve safety, compliance, and performance. You’ll design, develop, and deploy programs—including Certificate III in Surface Extraction—aligned with the VET Quality Framework, Macmahon governance standards, and mining legislation. 

About the role

• FIFO from Perth
• 8:6 Family-friendly roster (negotiable)
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience within a training role preferably within the mining industry.
• A minimum of 5 years in a Surface Mining Production role as an operator
• Multiple heavy Surface mobile equipment competencies including Trucks, Front End Loader, Dozer, Excavators.
• Develop and drive stakeholder engagement and establish relationships with sites to allow open and productive communication and information exchange.
• Advise and assist the Macmahon site training departments to maintain and manage the process for training and reporting systems (LMS).

About you

• Certificate IV in Training & Assessment.
• Leadership experience, with the ability to coach, mentor, and build capability in trainers and assessors.
• Experience as a trainer within a training team, delivering and assessing competency-based programs.
• Strong operational background with proven experience operating multiple surface mining machines, including dump trucks, loaders, graders, dozers, and excavators..
• High-level computer literacy with expertise in SuccessFactors LMS and proficiency across the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to engage stakeholders and deliver training effectively.
• Ability to work autonomously, travel frequently, and collaborate across diverse, geographically dispersed teams.
