Delivering a comprehensive range of surface mining, underground mining and engineering services to the resources sector, Macmahon offers great opportunities for a diverse and exciting career in mining.

The project is a coal operation in the Bowen Basin area, located near Glenden, and is estimated to produce up to 10 million tonnes of hard coking coal per year.

Macmahon is currently seeking applications from people interested in working for Macmahon Surface Mining Operations in Queensland, who have worked in a Health Safety Environment (HSE) Superintendent or Senior HSE leadership position. 

To be successful in the position you must have:

  • Demonstrated experience in the role of HSEQ Superintendent within the Queensland coal mining environment
  • Experienced in management and supervision of Safety and Training personnel
  • Demonstrated experience of mentoring, coaching and management of HSEQ team
  • Formal qualifications within the HSEQ discipline (minimum Diploma OHS)
  • Sound working knowledge of statutory requirements and regulations
  • Proactive and positive approach to safety culture
  • Experience with excavator / shovel, truck and drill / blast operations;
  • Experience in developing and implementing a Coal Mine SHMS;
  • A demonstrated ability to engage clients, workforce and stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes, along with well-developed leadership skills.
