Macmahon is a leading Australian contract mining company with projects throughout Australia and South East Asia.

Delivering a comprehensive range of surface mining, underground mining and engineering services to the resources sector, Macmahon offers great opportunities for a diverse and exciting career in mining.

The project is a coal operation in the Bowen Basin area, located near Glenden, and is estimated to produce up to 10 million tonnes of hard coking coal per year.

Macmahon is currently seeking applications from experienced Production/Mining Superintendents who are interested in working for Macmahon’s Surface Mining Operations in Queensland.

As Production Superintendent, you will report to the Mining Manager and will be responsible for the management and leadership of operational staff to ensure that production targets are achieved in line with our safety, budget and environmental standards.

You will be responsible for building a positive culture in line with our five core values of Safety, Teamwork, Prosperity, Integrity and Environment that form the basis of all aspects of our operations, on a lifestyle friendly 8/6 roster

The following experience and requirements are favourable:

  • Experience in the management of open cut coal operations
  • Hold relevant tertiary or equivalent qualifications, including S1, S2, S3 & G2
  • Knowledge of the Coal Mining Act and Regulations
  • Proven ability to lead and develop teams
  • Create and drive a positive safety culture
