Macmahon Maintenance Masters is Macmahon’s internal labour support division, providing support to Macmahon's surface and underground mining operations. The team is composed of experienced tradespeople and is suited to someone who is technically experienced, confident in their abilities and excited by the prospect of a new challenge every day.

About the Role 
We You’ll be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and maintaining heavy mobile equipment used in mining operations. You’ll work alongside experienced teammates who share knowledge and support each other to get the job done safely and efficiently. 

 

Role Details and Benefits 

  • Location: Tropicana Gold Mine, WA
  • Roster: 2:1 (Days and Nights) and 12.5 hours per day!
  • Rate: Up to $89 per hour (Temp to Perm) 
  • FIFO from Perth and Kalgoorlie

Responsibilities  

  • Diagnostics, repairs and preventative maintenance on heavy mobile mining plant:

 

      • Excavators – CAT 6060 | CAT 6040 | Hitachi 5600-6 | Hitachi 2600-6 | Hitachi 1900-6
      • Dozers – CAT D11 | CAT D10 Track Dozers | CAT 854K Wheel Dozers
      • Graders – CAT 16M
      • Loaders – CAT 993K | 992K
      • Dump Trucks – CAT 793F | 789D I 785C

 

  • Experience in tray relining, bucket rebuilds, structural crack repairs on chassis, booms and sticks, lip installation, cast corners and adaptors
  • GET scheduled and unscheduled – Bradken GET experienced preferred
  • Complete servicing to OEM standards and site procedures
  • Speak-up and contribute to our culture; everyone home safe, every swing
  • Work closely with production and planning teams to schedule work
  • Completing breakdowns in a timely manner

 

What You’ll Bring 

  • Previous Mobile Plant experience working on Surface Mining environment;
  • Australian Recognised Trade Certificate (Cert III in Boilermaking/Welding)
  • Demonstrated experience with on- site repairs e.g. excavator bucket and truck tray body rebuilds;
  • Capacity to preform welding (MIG/ TIG/ STICK), air arc gouging, cutting and lancing, accompanied by relevant welding tickets; 
  • Capability to read and work in accordance to engineering drawings and work plans; 
  • Ability to work independently as well as a part of the team; 
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Demonstrating commitment to Macmahon safety culture and values; and 
  • Current MANUAL Australian Drivers Licence. (Mandatory)
