The Telfer Gold Mine is located in the Great Sandy Desert in the East Pilbara region of Western Australia and produces copper and gold. Macmahon will continue to deliver the surface drill and blast, load and haul, mobile maintenance and rehandle mine functions until 2023 with a possibility of extension.  Telfer camp has seen recent upgrades to facilities including refreshed dining, wet mess and gym.

We are currently looking for experienced Light Vehicle Fitter to join our Maintenance Team at Telfer on a on a 2 weeks on 1 week off roster, flying in and out of Perth. Reporting to Maintenance Supervisor, Light Vehicle Fitter is responsible for daily service and repairs the site light vehicle fleet in order to maintain the safety and reliability standard according to manufacturer’s specifications and requirements. Daily duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Servicing light vehicles according to the planned schedule;
  • Diagnosing faults and breakdowns of light vehicles;
  • Ordering materials and spare parts that are needed for the vehicle;
  • Maintaining the vehicle service and history documentation cleaning, maintain workplace, tools and equipment;
  • Ensuring all relevant documents are submitted efficiently and accurately on time for processing;
  • Ability and willingness to conduct other tasks when required.


About you:

  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within mine site environment;
  • Australian Recognised Trade Certificate;
  • Demonstrated experience with on- site repairs to Light Vehicles;
  • Ability to work independently as well as a part of the team;
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Demonstrating commitment to Macmahon safety culture and values; and
  • Current C Class Drivers Licence.


As a part of the recruitment process for this role you may be required to complete a pre-employment medical, inclusive of laboratory drug and alcohol screen and complete a criminal history and qualification checks. Additionally you will must provide proof of working rights in Australia i.e. copy of valid Australian passport, birth certificate, citizenship certificate or current visa grant notification.
