Dispatch Operator - Telfer

The Telfer Gold Mine is located in the Great Sandy Desert in the East Pilbara region of Western Australia and produces copper and gold. Macmahon commenced its operations at the Telfer mine site in February 2016 and is delivering the surface drill and blast, load and haul, mobile maintenance and rehandle mine functions until 2023.

We are currently looking for an experienced Dispatch Operator to join our Team at Telfer on 2 weeks on 2 weeks roster (14 dayshift, 14 off), that will then revert back to an 8 days on 6 days off roster, flying in and out of PerthReporting to Dispatch Supervisor the primary focus of the role is to provide support to our on-site teams by coordinating the dispatch of machines and equipment and assuring excellent communication between departments.

 

Other duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinating people, machinery and equipment to achieve optimal production in accordance with mine plan priorities.
  • Serving as central communication personnel for mine production and safety, including emergency events.
  • Capturing, validating and recording mine site data through the modular mining system.
  • Utilising strong working relationships with the shift supervisors to collaborate and optimize the daily mine plan during the shift in response to changing conditions and events
  • Completing shift and production reports in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Fostering a positive and productive working relationship between team members and with other departments.
  • Monitoring effective and efficient mining methods.
  • Completing shift and production reports in an efficient and timely manner.
  • The successful candidate will have had experience working fleet management systems (specifically Modular) and demonstrate strong communication skills. The ability to solve problems, make effective decisions and work as part of a team is essential.

 

About you:

  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within mining or resources environment;
  • Well-developed time management skills
  • Significant experience with Modular Software is mandatory for this position
  • Excellent team work and communication skills
  • Proven ability to prioritise and remain effective under pressure
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Demonstrating commitment to Macmahon safety culture and values; and
  • Current C Class Drivers Licence.
