Advisor - HSEQ
Join Telfer as an experienced HSEQ Advisor. This position will be on an 8:6 roster, FIFO from Perth. Reporting to the HSEQ Superintendent, this site-based role will suit experienced professionals with previous surface mining experience.
About the role:
• Ensure effective implementation and compliance with the systems and processes outlined in the HSEQ Management Plan
• Provide HSEQ Management Systems mentoring and guidance to leaders and workers
• Liaising with our clients in relation to WHS activities and site-based lead and lag indicators
• Assisting with accident/incident investigations as required
• Facilitating risk assessments to support operations and their ability to control and reduce risks across our activities
• Maintaining and reviewing site corrective action and hazard reporting processes
• Completing site inspections and audits in line with the group annual safety planner and site-based activity planners
• Completing monthly safety reporting and daily inputs into the company’s event management system
• Sourcing and distribution of safety and health awareness information to site information boards
• Assisting supervision with injury management and return-to-work processes
• Monitoring the mental health of our people and referring them to EAP services as needed
About you
• Previous surface mining experience in a similar role, accompanied by a tertiary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety
• Working knowledge of the Mines Safety Inspection Act (WA) and similar legislation in other states
• Experience in HSEQ management systems and the ability to implement HSEQ Management Plan deliverables
• Qualification in incident investigation methodology, such as ICAM
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, communication, and engagement skills
• High level of computer literacy
• A ‘can-do’ attitude with a strong desire to succeed in the role and a passion for health, safety, environment, and quality
• Senior First Aid Certificate
• Current Manual “C” Class WA Driver’s Licence or equivalent
