Job Summary

This role will execute the Company's health and safety policies. The person will support and advise management, whilst supervising all health and safety actions for zones in which they are assigned. The person will also implement all audits in their zoned area/s

Job Responsibilities

Health, Safety and Risk

  • Ensures that ICAM investigations are carried out as required based on group requirements
  • Ensure all HSEQ policies and procedures are followed and a proactive approach to HSEQ is maintained
  • Ensure individual compliance with all relevant legislation, codes of practice, Macmahon and Client instructions, policies, procedures and practices
  • Assist with the overall implementation of safety systems, strategies and initiatives in order to effectively contribute towards the overall corporate safety objectives and targets of the company


  • Monthly reporting for Macmahon, the Executive Team and the Board of Directors
  • Assistance with the establishment and maintenance of tools that will assist in measuring and auditing compliance
  • Monitors the WHS legislation as implemented
  • Conducts internal HSEQ audits
  • Advises and recommends opportunity for compliance and reporting improvements as appropriate
  • Assists with the maintenance of accreditation and compliance of HSEQ systems to ISO AS/NZ requirements
  • Assist with the establishment of risk profiles and the development of strategies to reduce risk
  • Maintains databases such as InControl©, ChemWatch© and Chris21© and where possible recommends improvement for software development or use
  • Flags trends arising from audit findings or significant incidents with the General Manager HSEQ
  • Collates, compiles and reports upon BU significant incidents and audit findings
  • Coordinate the drug and alcohol compliance program for Corporate Macmahon
  • Coordinate and implement the Occupational Health and Safety management plan and monitor compliance within the plan
  • Maintain a register of accidents and injuries and provide an analysis of these


  • Ensure work is done correctly the first time to the acceptable standard so there is no rework

  • 2-5 years' experience in a similar role
  • Able to compile reports using software data bases such as InControl or ChemWatch
  • Good working knowledge of In Control or similar HSEQ reporting databases
  • Has been involved with site audits and Inspections as a team member or team leader
  • Has experience with developing and amending procedures
  • Has experience with health and safety management systems of work
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to Work Additional Hours when Required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Related Field or Post Graduate Diploma
  • Training and Certification in ICAM (Incident Cause Analysis Method) or Root Cause Analysis
