The Macmahon team is seeking for a Workshop Fitter in our Perth workshop working on a 5:2 roster doing 10.5hr days.

Key responsibilities include and not limited to:

  • Remove and service/repair mechanical components (i.e. engine or components, transmission, brakes, driveshaft, suspension)
  • Fault finding on various machines, including engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, schematic drawing and relevant diagnostic software
  • Component change outs
  • Completion of scheduled maintenance servicing of plant and equipment
  • Engine and transmission rebuilds
  • Repairs and servicing of mobile mining equipment
  • Ensure all relevant documents are submitted efficiently and accurately on time for processing
  • Able and willing to conduct other tasks when required
  • Participate in discussions relating to improvement ideas pertaining to operational and financial performance of the site


Skills & Experience Required:

  • An Australian recognised Trade Certificate
  • Proven experience with a variety of Cat & Hitachi Diggers, Dump Trucks, Dozers, Graders, Loaders and Drills
  • Experience with major components would be advantageous including engines, differentials, transmissions, torque converters, final drives and minor components including pumps & cylinders
  • A dedicated commitment to safety and quality assurance
  • Exceptional diagnostic and troubleshooting / interpretive skills
  • Previous experience in the mining industry either underground or surface operations
  • Physically fit for the demands of the role

Should you be successful in this role, you will be required to pass a medical and drug and alcohol test along with obtaining a National Police Clearance.
