Macmahon are seeking a Field Service - HD Mechanic to join our Perth Workshop team in a unique hybrid role that bridges workshop rebuild execution and on-site commissioning. The Workshop undertakes a range of tasks to manage Macmahon’s fleet of equipment, as well as maintenance projects for external clients.
You’ll work with skilled people, who look out for each other and take pride in doing the job right. Together, we keep our fleet safe and reliable.
About the Role
You will play a critical role in supporting major equipment rebuild programs, taking ownership from demobilisation through to site commissioning and warranty support. You will represent the workshop in the field, ensuring quality outcomes, strong customer engagement, and seamless handover to operations.

Responsibilities
• Support heavy equipment rebuild programs within the Perth workshop
• Conduct inspections, diagnostics, and final quality checks prior to dispatch
• Lead equipment mobilisation and demobilisation activities
• Perform on-site commissioning of rebuilt equipment
• Provide warranty support, fault finding, and optimisation in the field
• Represent the workshop professionally to internal and external stakeholders
• Provide clear reporting and technical feedback to workshop teams
• Speak-up and contribute to our culture; everyone home safe, every swing
• Work closely with production and planning teams to schedule work
What You’ll Bring
• Australian-recognised trade
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting capability
• Ability to work autonomously while contributing to a team environment
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Experience in field service or commissioning
• Exposure to warranty support or rebuild environments (desirable)Ability to work as part of a team and step up when needed
