Field Service - HD Mechanic

Macmahon are seeking a Field Service - HD Mechanic to join our Perth Workshop team in a unique hybrid role that bridges workshop rebuild execution and on-site commissioning.


This position plays a critical role in supporting major equipment rebuild programs, taking ownership from demobilisation through to site commissioning and warranty support. You will represent the workshop in the field, ensuring quality outcomes, strong customer engagement, and seamless handover to operations.


This role is ideal for a tradesperson who thrives working independently, takes pride in owning outcomes, and can confidently operate in both workshop and site environments.


About the Role
Location: Perth Workshop & Site-Based 
Roster: Varies depending on support required; 80% Perth based, and a minimum of 20% on site
Competitive base rate I Specialist Allowance I Site Allowance


Key Responsibilities
•    Support heavy equipment rebuild programs within the Perth workshop
•    Conduct inspections, diagnostics, and final quality checks prior to dispatch
•    Lead equipment mobilisation and demobilisation activities
•    Perform on-site commissioning of rebuilt equipment
•    Provide warranty support, fault finding, and optimisation in the field
•    Represent the workshop professionally to internal and external stakeholders
•    Provide clear reporting and technical feedback to workshop teams


About You
•    Trade qualified Heavy Duty Mechanic (HD Fitter)
•    Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting capability
•    Ability to work autonomously while contributing to a team environment
•    Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
•    Experience in field service or commissioning (desirable)
•    Exposure to warranty support or rebuild environments (desirable)
