Supervisor - Purchasing
We are seeking an experienced Purchasing Supervisor to lead and mentor a team of Purchasing Officers in delivering efficient, compliant, and value-driven procurement outcomes.
About the role
This role plays a critical part in ensuring end-to-end purchasing activities support operations across Australia and Indonesia, while driving cost optimisation, supplier performance, and continuous improvement and the key responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Supervise, mentor, and support Purchasing Officers (Australian and Off-Shore) to ensure consistent, compliant procurement practices
- Promote a safe work environment and ensure adherence to the Code of Conduct
- Ensure full compliance with Supply Procedures and Procurement Policies
- Drive efficient procurement outcomes, delivering the lowest practical total cost of ownership\
- Promote and maximise use of preferred and contracted suppliers
- Manage requisitions, purchase orders, invoicing, approvals, and expediting activities
- Oversee freight and supply chain coordination to ensure on-time delivery to sites
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with operations, finance, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
- Support and promote automation initiatives and continuous improvement across procurement systems
- Coordinate team workloads, leave, and coverage to meet business requirements
- Ensure accurate reporting, supplier data integrity, and catalogue pricing maintenance
About you
To excel in this role, ideally you will bring
- Proven ability to lead, supervise, and influence a procurement team
- Strong commercial acumen with a focus on cost control and value creation
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Sound negotiation and conflict-resolution capability
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in procurement or supply chain leadership roles
- Solid experience within mining and/or construction environments
- Hands-on experience with ERP and procurement systems including SAP S/4HANA, Ariba, Mainpac, Dynamics AX.
