Join Macmahon as a Specialist Roving Trainer & Assessor, reporting to the Surface Mining Training Superintendent. This role partners with operational leaders and site trainers to deliver targeted training solutions that improve safety, compliance, and performance. You’ll design, develop, and deploy programs—including Certificate III in Surface Extraction—aligned with the VET Quality Framework, Macmahon governance standards, and mining legislation. The position is predominantly site-based, involving frequent travel to FIFO and DIDO sites across WA, with some time at the Perth head office.

About the role

• Partner with site leaders and Health & Safety teams to define training outcomes that improve safety, capability, and operational performance.
• Support the design and development of training and assessment materials tailored to business outcomes.
• Deploy new training solutions and mentor site trainers to ensure consistent implementation and uplift in training quality.
• Deliver high-quality, compliant training and assessment across multiple sites aligned to current competencies and operational requirements.
• Conduct audits and quality checks to maintain compliance with regulatory, VET, and internal standards.

About you

• Certificate IV in Training & Assessment.
• Leadership experience, with the ability to coach, mentor, and build capability in trainers and assessors.
• Experience as a trainer within a training team, delivering and assessing competency-based programs.
• Strong operational background with proven experience operating multiple surface mining machines, including dump trucks, loaders, graders, dozers, and excavators.
• Excellent safety knowledge and a demonstrated commitment to compliance.
• High-level computer literacy with expertise in SuccessFactors LMS and proficiency across the Microsoft Office Suite.
