Central Warehouse & Logistics Manager

Macmahon is seeking an experienced Warehouse & Logistics Manager to transform end‑to‑end materials, warehousing, and logistics operations across a complex supply chain.

About the role

In this role you will: 

  • Lead the development and rollout of a standardised Materials Management framework, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and consistent processes across all sites.
  • Manage 3PL, freight and logistics partners to deliver contracted service levels, operational performance, safety compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee end‑to‑end warehouse operations for the Central Distribution Centre, including receiving, storage, dispatch, cross‑docking and after‑hours service capability.
  • Strengthen inventory governance through accurate stock control, forecasting, master data quality, optimisation initiatives and root‑cause analysis of discrepancies.
  • Build and develop a high‑performing team through recruitment, coaching, capability uplift, succession planning and embedding the organisation’s values.
  • Maintain strong operational communication with sites and internal customers, ensuring visibility of materials, demand satisfaction and reliable service delivery.
  • Optimise warehouse layouts, storage, preservation and operational flows to improve efficiency, reduce cost‑to‑serve and support business continuity.
  • Drive automation and digital uplift through barcoding/RFID, scanning technologies and emerging AI tools to enhance accuracy, productivity and transparency.
  • Champion operational excellence through lean initiatives, structured reporting, balanced scorecards and cross‑functional improvement programs.
  • Lead centralisation and inventory‑reduction initiatives, including the establishment of the central DC and delivery of targeted reductions through JIT, VMI, consignment and returns.
  • Based at the Perth Head Office, Monday to Friday, with ad‑hoc site travel required.

About you:

To succed in this role, you will bring: 

  • Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Engineering or equivalent.
  • Deep end-to-end operational supply chain experience across warehousing, transport, inventory and 3PL
    environments in mining, resources or heavy industry.
  • Strong contract and commercial management experience with 3PLs and freight providers.
  • Demonstrated capability in inventory optimisation, accuracy improvement and working capital management.
  • Experience implementing continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen).
  • Proven leadership capability managing teams across multiple sites or outsourced networks.
  • Strong systems capability in SAP, WMS, TMS, ERP and reporting / analytics tools.
