Leading Hand Fitter

Due to our ongoing growth, Macmahon is currently seeking enthusiastic and experienced people to join the team at the King of the Hills (KOTH) mine located in the Eastern Goldfields of Western Australia, 28km north of Leonora. Macmahon has secured a five-year Surface and Underground mining contract with RED 5 Ltd. The mine anticipates annual production above 200kozpa. KOTH is Australia’s next major Gold Mine, which will feature state-of-the-art technology, 85% new plant and brand-new camp facilities.

We are currently seeking an experienced Leading Hand Fitter on a 2:1 Roster to the Project with responsibilities not limited to:

  • Assisting with effective implementation of daily work plans and clearly communicate the plan to the crews
  • Mentoring their crew members and help them achieving operational excellence
  • Identifying parts and materials required for daily maintenance activities
  • Ensure staff have optimum workloads available as well as hands-on training for safe and efficient performance


To be successful you will have the following skills and experience

  • Trade Certificate in Fitting
  • Experience in scheduled servicing and major repairs on a variety of heavy equipment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Cert IV in Frontline Management (preferred)
