Advisor - Communications

Join Macmahon’s dynamic Communications team and play a pivotal role in shaping and amplifying our voice across Australia and Southeast Asia. This is a hands-on, high-impact role where your ideas will influence how our people connect, how our communities see us, and how our brand is experienced across the business.

You’ll develop and execute communication strategies, craft compelling content, and build strong relationships across a wide range of stakeholders – from project sites and corporate teams to community partners and industry audiences.

In this role you will:

• Deliver engaging content and campaigns that strengthen the Macmahon brand and support business outcomes.
• Provide strategic communications advice and manage content across Macmahon's social media and internal communications platforms.
• Work closely with project sites to uncover authentic recognition stories that celebrate our people and their achievements.
• Champion internal communications by developing creative campaigns that drive engagement and connect our workforce across remote locations.
• Manage quarterly company newsletter, collaborating with inhouse design to produce a high-quality publication.
• Lead communications for the Macmahon Foundation, showcasing community programs, grant recipients, and their impact.
• Conduct site visits to capture photography, video, and stories that reflect our people, culture and operations.
• Manage and maintain content on Macmahon’s website, ensuring accuracy, relevance and brand alignment.

To excel in this role, you will bring:  

Essential 

• Tertiary qualification in Marketing, Communications, Media, or a related discipline
• Demonstrated experience in a communications or marketing role, ideally within mining, resources, or similar operational environment.
• Strong content creation skills, including writing. editing and storytelling across digital and traditional channels.
• Proficiency in website content management systems and digital communication tools.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
• High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities, work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Desirable 

• Experience using employee recognition platform or internal communications systems.
• Knowledge of analytics tools for social media and website performance.
• Experience coordinating events or community engagement activities.
• An interest or emerging skillset in photography/videography.
