HSEQ Manager

With a strong commitment to a values-based culture, we celebrate over 60 years of success and development. We are currently seeking an experienced HSEQT Manager to join our team at our Nifty mine. An exciting new contract for Macmahon, this person will be a crucial member of our team. You will ensure the Project fully implements and maintains compliance with the Company HSEQ management systems and processes.
About the Role
- Establish and drive a high standard of HSEQ performance across the Project sourcing and distributing appropriate HSEQT awareness information regularly.
- Consult with stakeholders on HSEQ matters including requirements of legislation, guidelines, Codes of Practice and Standards relevant to the workplace and ensure systems are in place and maintained to protect the health and safety of all.
- Satisfy environmental legal obligations through providing advice, developing and implementing procedures and facilitating actions and activities that result in compliance.
- Effectively engage and support the injury management and workers compensation team and representatives.
- Maintain and improve the Environmental Management Systems to enable Nifty Copper Project to manage its environmental obligations and improve its environmental performance.
About You
To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Health and Safety and/or Environment.
- Over 10 years operational and safety experience in mining.
- Extensive knowledge in the understanding and application of applicable Work, Health and Safety and Environmental legislative requirements.
- Previous Lead Auditor Experience in Occupational Safety and Health Management Systems.
- ICAM lead investigator training and previous application.
