Senior Mining Engineer - Mt Carlton
Macmahon is seeking an experienced Senior Mining Engineer to support the recommencement of operations at Mt Carlton mine. Located approximately two hours south of Townsville, Mt Carlton is a gold silver operation preparing to transition from care and maintenance back into production. This restart presents a unique opportunity to contribute to the establishment of safe, efficient and sustainable operational practices from the outset.
This position operates on an 7 Days On / 7 Days Off roster or equivalent, DIDO Only.
About The Role
- Conduct all aspects of engineering work: mine planning, design, scheduling, drill & blast support & equipment selection
- Provide technical and commercial support
- Provide technical engineering support and analysis
- Identify and actively participate in business improvement initiatives
- Maintenance of the production reporting system
- Engage and liaise with the wider team to achieve plan compliance
- Progress claim preparation and budget & forecast development
- A strong focus and commitment to safety
- Contribute to Mining Engineering and Estimating Community of Best Practice
- Great interpersonal and communication skills
About You
- Previous experience in a similar role, accompanied by a tertiary degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent.
- Mine Planning Software literate
- Previous exposure to hard rock surface mining projects highly regarded
- Commitment to raising the profile of Macmahon technical capability, building trust and rapport with our clients.
