Advisor - HSEQT - Mt Carlton

Macmahon is seeking an experienced HSEQT Advisor to support the recommencement of operations at Mt Carlton mine. Located approximately two hours south of Townsville, Mt Carlton is a gold silver operation preparing to transition from care and maintenance back into production. This restart presents a unique opportunity to contribute to the establishment of safe, efficient and sustainable operational practices from the outset.

 

Working closely with operational leaders, you’ll provide hands on support across Health, Safety, Environment, Quality and Training compliance. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a dynamic mining environment and enjoys coaching, influencing, and engaging with people at all levels.

 

This position operates on a 7 Days On / 7 Days Off roster, DIDO Only.

 

About The Role

  • Provide day-to-day HSEQ support to operational teams across a busy surface mining operation. 
  • Develop, deliver and maintain training and competency programs in line with site and legislative requirements. 
  • Conduct field leadership interactions, workplace inspections and risk assessments to promote a positive safety culture. 
  • Assist with incident investigations, reporting and corrective action management. 
  • Coordinate inductions, VOCs and task-specific training. 
  • Ensure compliance with WHS legislation, Management Plans and internal systems. 
  • Analyse HSEQ trends and support continuous improvement initiatives. 
  • Build strong relationships across site to influence safe behaviours and promote best practice.

 

About You

  • Previous experience in a HSEQ, Training, or Compliance role within surface mining or resources. 
  • Cert IV in Training & Assessment (TAE40116 or equivalent). 
  • Relevant OHS qualifications (Cert IV WHS or higher). 
  • Strong understanding of mining safety legislation and site systems. 
  • Confident communicator with the ability to coach and engage with frontline teams. 
  • Proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement. 
  • High attention to detail and strong reporting capability.
