Supervisor - Maintenance
Job Responsibilities
Health, Safety and Risk
- Ensure compliance with Company-wide and group related strategy, policies, procedures, values and guidelines
- Ensure that the Mining Act and Regulations are adhered to at all times
- Ensure plant that has faulty critical components is not operated until faults are rectified
Technical/Operational
- Maintain Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
- Maintain, service, and repair plant and equipment
- Ensure that all servicing and repairs are carried out to a high standard and in a timely manner
- Ensuring that plant and equipment is serviceable and available to meet the agreed production plan
- Coordinate all plant maintenance, servicing and repair activities to optimise the operation of the project fleet
- Support the Maintenance Superintendent in analysing plant delays, equipment failures and safety issues by investigation, problem solving and the formulation of maintenance plans
- Ensuring that tooling, parts and technical issues are dealt with promptly so it doesn’t delay the maintenance activities
- Ensures quality daily time and service reports and cross over reports and field to shop transfers
- Liaise with breakdown coordinator to facilitate daily damage and breakdown/downtime reports
- Ensure plant and equipment is maintained and operated in a manner to prevent damage and abuse
Commercial/Financial
- Monitor maintenance activities, identifying non-conformance to KPI and applying corrective actions to rectify
- Ensure there is an understanding of and work within the project budget and forecast
- Ensure consumable items are allocated and monitored
- Provide oversight and correction to crew of maintenance efficiencies
- Comply 100% to the supply chain process
People Management
- Supervise maintenance personnel and subcontractors during the shift
- Undertake informal individual feedback reviews with direct reports on each roster
- Ensure disciplinary situations are managed in line with the Macmahon’s relevant policies and in consultation with HR
- Ensure technicians and apprentices are aware of which bays/jobs they own for the day or shift and what, if any, critical issues are
- Manage and determine manpower availability, allocate resources as required and assign additional resources if required
- Provide insight and guidance by assigning work priorities to technicians where applicable by overseeing jobs for work quality and productivity
Team Contribution
- Oversee problem solving investigations with teams and ensure adequate counter measures are being implemented
- Identify and implement improvement opportunities leading to safer workplaces, increased productivity and increased efficiencies
