Join the Gwalia Underground team as an Underground Electrical Supervisor where you will oversee the electrical maintenance and installation activities within underground operations. This role ensures that all electrical systems and mobile equipment are maintained, repaired, and installed to the highest standards, supporting safe and efficient mining operations.

In This Role, You Will

  • Accept statutory appointment as an Electrical Supervisor
  • Ensure compliance with associated statutory responsibilities
  • Maintain strict compliance with energy safety, workplace health and safety, mining regulations and other regulatory obligations
  • Supervise the Installation, inspection, and testing of electrical components and systems in compliance with electrical standards
  • Respond promptly to electrical breakdowns, diagnose issues, and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime
  • Plan and execute regular preventative maintenance on electrical equipment to ensure reliability and operational efficiency
  • Supervise and lead team of electricians, apprentices and contractors providing guidance, support and technical expertise
  • Scope, plan and assign tasks to team members, ensuring efficient utilization of resources

About You

  • Unrestricted WA Electrical License
  • Electrical Nominee or ability to obtain
  • Apply First Aid/CPR & Low Voltage Rescue
  • 3+ years Supervisory experience
  • High Voltage Operators Accreditation
  • Scheduled 26 certification
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematic drawing and fault-finding control circuits
  • Ability to mentor and lead a team of electricians
  • Experience with Sandvik DD421 and DD421i jumbos and Sandvik DL421 and DL432i solos (desired)
  • Understanding and knowledge of underground communication systems - leaky feeder, Wi-Fi and fibre optic
  • Sound knowledge and demonstrated understanding of AS/NZS electrical standard
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across teams
  • Proficient in using maintenance management systems (Experience in SAP is desirable) and Microsoft Office applications
