Diesel Fitter Responsibilities
Health, Safety and Risk
- Ensure individual compliance with all relevant legislation, codes of practice, Macmahon and Client instructions, policies, procedures and practices
- Complete service vehicle daily pre-start checks
- Ensure a clear hand over is completed with cross-shift
- Read and understand work instructions and permits and adhere to them at all times
- Complete JSEA when required
Technical/Operational
- To repair all equipment to OEM specifications and ensure all repairs are completed in a timely manner
- Fill out parts order sheets, with part numbers, description and pricing
- Ensure digger G.E.T stock levels are adequate
- Ensure that tasks allocated by Supervisors are carried out efficiently and promptly
- Record accurate information on check and condition monitoring reports
- Maintain an appropriate inventory of spare parts
- Ensure that operational schedules are met in accordance with strategic operational planning
- Carry out repairs to equipment to best engineering practices as directed by shift leading hand
- Ensure all relevant plant is appropriately serviced, maintained, managed and operated
- Diagnose and repair equipment efficiently and consistently adhering to requiring standards of work
- Able and willing to conduct other tasks when required
- Actively participate in annual performance reviews
- Maintain regular reporting to Supervisor and other reports as required
Commercial/Financial
- Operate machine in competent manner without causing damage to equipment
- Ensure work is done correctly the first time to the acceptable standard so there is no rework
Team Contribution
- Support employees and contractors to comply with all relevant policies and procedures
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with key contractors, suppliers and customers
