Project Maintenance Manager

Macmahon is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join the team at the Foxleigh Mine Project. This $250 million, 5 year project (to March 2026) for QMetco encompasses the provision of mobile plant and maintenance services. Located in Queensland’s Bowen Basin coalfield, 12km south of Middlemount and 272km northwest of Rockhampton, this project suits DIDO from the Mackay, Middlemount or Rockhamptons areas. 

You will be passionate about providing technical and people leadership to the project team, working with a dedicated leadership team to have an impact on the people, plant and equipment across the project. You will enjoy working with a wide range of people to deliver superior maintenance services to our client.


•    Overall responsibility for the safe and effective management of the project 
•    Planning, scheduling, costing and executing major shuts
•    Closely liaise with client regarding planning & requirements
•    Contract management including implementation and negotiation
•    Commercial and operational reporting
•    Procurement coordination
•    Ensure adherence to Coal Mining Safety and Health Act and Regulations at all times 
•    Provide technical engineering and management expertise
•    Champion Macmahon values to ensure they are firmly embedded in the project culture
•    Build strong internal and external customer focused culture and practices to deliver positive project results
•    Build a competent, engaged and performance driven workforce 
•    Provide appropriate development opportunities to build internal capability
•    Research and consider new technology and opportunities to improve reliability, quality, cost, safety and environmental performance
•    Drive continuous improvement 
•    Identify growth opportunities across the business

About you

•    Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Trade qualification or equivalent
•    10yrs+ experience in Mining industry
•    8yrs+ experience in Leadership roles
•    Experience managing a large mine site workshop
•    Experience maintaining Komatsu electric trucks
•    Sound knowledge of domestic & international mining industries & markets
•    High level commercial acumen
•    Contract implementation, management and negotiation experience
•    Advanced organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills
•    Demonstrated ability to develop and empower leaders to drive and develop teams
