Join a premier mining operation in Queensland’s coal-rich Bowen Basin as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic Leading Hand. This hands-on leadership role offers the chance to work with cutting-edge machinery, support a high-performing team, and ensure fleet uptime in a dynamic and safety-driven environment.

About the Role 

• Lead servicing, diagnostics, and repairs across mining fleets including haul trucks, excavators, dozers, and graders (CAT, Liebherr, Hitachi).
• Coordinate urgent breakdown response and scheduled maintenance to support operational KPIs. 
• Mentor fitters, apprentices, and support crew in a fast-paced workshop and field setting. 
• Liaise with supervisors, customers, and support staff to optimise workflow and equipment readiness.
• Ensure compliance with WHS standards and site safety protocols (Standard 11, Coal Board Medical, PPE, risk assessments).

About You

To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:

• Australian-recognised Heavy Diesel Mechanic trade certificate (Mobile Plant).
• Proven leadership experience in mining (coal preferred). 
• S123 & G2 certification or willingness to obtain. 
• HR or HC licence, forklift ticket, and first aid desirable.
