Trades Assistant

Macmahon Surface Mining Australia is growing at Byerwen and seeking a motivated Trade Assistant to support our maintenance team. In this role, you’ll assist trades personnel with daily maintenance tasks, organise tools and parts, and use high‑pressure cleaning equipment to prepare plant for repair. You’ll also contribute to effective work order management and defect elimination as part of our planning process.

About the role

• Provide hands‑on support to trades personnel across daily maintenance tasks.
• Source and organise tools, parts and equipment as required.
• Use high‑pressure cleaning equipment to prepare plant for maintenance.
• Support the maintenance team’s planning approach, including work order compliance and defect elimination.

About you

• Solid experience working with heavy machinery
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving capability
• Current manual driver’s licence
• Standard 11 and Coal Board Medical preferred, but not essential
