Paramedic

Job Responsibilities

Macmahon is a leading Australian contract mining company with projects throughout Australia and Southeast Asia. Delivering a comprehensive range of surface and underground mining, civil design and construction, performance enhancement, and mine site maintenance and rehabilitation services to the resources sector.

Macmahon are seeking energetic, passionate Paramedic to support our Byerwen Operation. This role will be engaged on a 7:7 roster DIDO.

Reporting to the HSEQ Superintendent you will be part of the site emergency response team by providing first response to all incidents as well as supporting the site training and HSE activities.
 
Some of your duties will include but not limited to:
•    Providing emergency care and treatment
•    Conducting medical treatment in a clinic 
•    Providing first response to emergency incidents
•    Conducting onsite drug and alcohol monitoring
•    Maintaining routine checks of emergency response equipment and fit for purpose assessments 
•    Work in accordance with policies and procedures 
•    Supporting your multidisciplinary ESO Teammates
•    Participating and support ERT training on site
•    Supporting other site HSE activities (as required)
•    Drive a safety first workplace culture, which promotes a zero-harm work environment


To be successful in this role you will have;

•    Degree in Paramedical Science or equivalent
•    2+ years' experience within a Paramedic Emergency Service Officer role or equivalent
•    Drug and Alcohol Testing Certification (desirable)
•    Provide up to date immunisations for Tetanus and Hepatitis A&B
•    AHPRA registration as a Paramedic
•    Drivers Licence (manual)

Byerwen Mine is located approximately 20kms west of the town of Glenden in the northern Bowen Basin and is Macmahon’s largest project on the east coast. Full camp facilities are available – accommodation and meals provided

As a part of the recruitment process for this role you may be required to complete a pre-employment medical, inclusive of laboratory drug and alcohol screen and complete a criminal history and qualification checks. Additionally, you will be asked to provide proof of working rights in Australia i.e. copy of valid Australian passport, birth certificate, citizenship certificate or current visa grant notification where applicable.
