Macmahon is currently seeking an experienced Open Cut Examiner to join the team at Byerwen coal mine. Reporting to the Operations Superintendent, the role is responsible for the effective safe operation of the coal mine in accordance with the site's safety and health management systems and relevant legislation. This position is a stand-alone OCE, working alongside the Supervisor. We are offering industry comparative wages to attract the right candidate.
Key responsibilities/duties include:
• Monitor the safe productivity of dozer, load haul activities in accordance with the site procedures and legislation

• Identify non-compliance issues and apply corrective actions to rectify
• Daily pit/workplace inspections as per legislative requirements
• Adjust work plans where necessary and effectively communicate the changes to crew and others impacted by said changes
About you:
• Queensland Open Cut Examiner certificate
• RIIENV301 – Conduct Atmospheric Monitoring Certificate
• Supervisor S1, S2, S3 and G2 competencies
• Proven demonstrated experience as an OCE in a coal mining environment
• Excellent negotiation skills and ability to effectively communicate at all levels both verbally and written
• Coal Board Medical S4 or HA Report
• Standard 11 – statement of attainment
• Current Drivers Licence
• Strong focus on safety essential
Byerwen Mine is located approximately 20kms west of the town of Glenden in the northern Bowen Basin and is Macmahon’s largest project on the east coast. Camp facilities are available – accommodation and meals provided.
