HD Mechanic Fitter
Macmahon Surface Mining Australia is looking for a skilled Heavy Diesel Fitter to keep the Byerwen fleet running at its best. You’ll take charge of scheduled servicing, preventative maintenance and fast, accurate breakdown diagnostics to keep production moving. Working across CAT, Hitachi and Liebherr fleets, you’ll handle component change‑outs, hydraulic and engine work, and deliver clean, compliant maintenance records.
About the role
- Perform scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance on Byerwen’s mobile fleet
- Carry out breakdown diagnostics and fault‑finding to minimise production delays
- Complete component change‑outs and repairs to OEM and site standards
- Undertake hydraulic, engine, transmission and driveline maintenance
- Accurately record all maintenance activities and compliance documentation
About you
- Trade‑qualified Heavy Diesel Fitter or Mobile Plant Mechanic
- Trade certificate or transcript required to meet site and statutory compliance
- Demonstrated experience maintaining mining mobile plant in a production environment
- Strong working knowledge of CAT, Hitachi and Liebherr fleets
- Advanced diagnostic and troubleshooting capability to minimise downtime and lift fleet performance
