Crew Trainer - Operations

We are currently seeking a Crew Trainer to join our team at Byerwen on a 7:7 roster. Reporting to the Training Specialist, the position is responsible for co-ordinating the delivery of operational training requirements to ensure site personnel can perform their duties in accordance with site, industry, and company standards. 

Key duties/responsibilities include:

Identify the training requirements for all site personnel
Consult with site management personnel on site specific training requirements
Liaise with stakeholders to schedule and efficiently prioritise training on site
Conduct WAF and site familiarisations for newly inducted site personnel, including contractor workforce engaged by Macmahon
Conduct site training audits
Ensure documentation is completed correctly, filed, and archived as required
Ensure training is entered and updated in company and client systems
Manage all site workplace assessment activities 
Evaluate and report on all site training and education activities

About You:

Thorough understanding of relevant legislation
Experience in the mining industry
Excellent written and verbal communication
Quality interpersonal skills and a passion for on-site training
Good computer literacy and the ability to adapt to new programmes 
Competencies from the TAE16 suite of competencies (specifically required: TAE40116)
Current Coal Board medical and Standard 11 preferable
Current Driver’s license

Byerwen Mine is located approximately 20kms west of the town of Glenden in the northern Bowen Basin and is Macmahon’s largest project on the east coast. Full camp facilities are available – accommodation and meals provided.
As a part of the recruitment process for this role you may be required to complete a pre-employment medical, inclusive of laboratory drug and alcohol screen and complete a criminal history and qualification checks. Additionally, you will be asked to provide proof of working rights in Australia i.e. copy of valid Australian passport, birth certificate, citizenship certificate or current visa grant notification where applicable.
