Commercial Superintendent - East Coast

Reporting to the Project Manager and under the guidance of the East Coast Commercial Team, this Commercial Superintendent will be site based team at Byerwen Mine on a 5:2 roster. This role will be responsible for monitoring and providing analysis of the financial health of our current Projects, along with reporting, financial planning, forecasting, contract compliance and governance to maximise productivity and profitability across our operations.

Duties include however not limited to:
Manage the timely and accurate compilation of monthly reports budgets, quarterly forecasts and daily P&L forecast and review accordingly with Project Manager 
Liaise with the relevant departments to ensure all contract documentation is reviewed prior to acceptance and execution, administer contract variations, claims, production relief effectively and within contract time constraints
Provide commercial input into new tenders and scope increases related to the project
Monitor costs ensuring all reclaims are made and variances are understood.
Drive cost control process and create project review processes to measure project compliance to standards and procedures.
Monitor individual contract/site performance and identify issues/potential issues (safety, operational, contractual)
Ensure commercial scheduling, monitoring and reporting processes are effective, accurate and aligned to client requirements and establish and maintain Contract Obligations register
Ensure all significant production non-conformances are investigated immediately to determine root cause and corrective action 
Display intimate knowledge of contractual KPI’s including key factors impacting on production and financial success

To be considered for those roles, you will need to demonstrate the following: 
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Commerce, Quantity Surveying, Contract Administration or relate
Strong commercial awareness
Robust ability to manage conflicting deadlines ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of commercial obligations
Good knowledge of financial and accounting processes
Sound risk management knowledge excellent negotiation skills 
Familiar with QA/QC processes and requirements
Good knowledge of relevant legislation
Ability to understand and interpret contractual documentation
Advanced user of Microsoft applications, particularly Excel.

Byerwen Mine is located approximately 20kms west of the town of Glenden in the northern Bowen Basin and is Macmahon’s largest project on the east coast. Full camp facilities are available – accommodation and meals provided
