Macmahon are currently seeking a Brisbane based Training Coordinator to join the team. Reporting to the General Manager – Surface East & Civil, the position is responsible for the efficient and effective delivery of all site training activities for Macmahon’s east coast Surface Mining operations.

Key duties/responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate and supervise training delivery on and off site;
  • Provide advice and support to managers and supervisors in relation to the training and development needs of their direct reports;
  • Identify, implement and promote continuous improvement to the L&D systems;
  • Ensure all training and assessment undertaken within the Business Unit L&D system are current and in accordance with required standards, ensuring compliance with Company and legislative requirements as specified within relevant Acts;
  • Ensure 100% data accuracy regarding all training, assessment and education data and documentation;
  • Manage and support the Certificate III in Surface Extraction Operations traineeship program;
  • Maintain RTO compliance requirements;
  • Audit internal processes and systems;
  • Manage site competencies and licencing requirements in accordance with Client, Macmahon and industry requirements;
  • Design, development and delivery of timely, cost effective training programs and learning materials;
  • Liaise with Project Managers to establish annual training budgets and plans;
  • Support the Corporate L&D team to drive initiatives and corporate governance; and
  • Improve ineffective and/or inefficient practices through evaluation of mine data, vims and other reporting tools.

To be successful in this position you must have:

  • Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (or equivalent);
  • Drivers Licence (manual);
  • Sound knowledge of Macmahon’s HRIS and other relevant systems;
  • Demonstrated competency in operating mining equipment;
  • Intermediate to advanced user skills in Microsoft Office, Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint;
  • Proven organisational and time management skills with high attention to detail;
  • Professional interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information; and
  • Ability to self-manage and work independently.
