Macmahon is currently seeking an experienced HSEQ Advisor to join the Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) team. Based at the Macmahon corporate office near the Perth Airport, this role will require regular site visits to multiple domestic projects where you will assist with the application of HSEQ processes, conduct HSEQ Audits and continue with the development and maintenance of the HSEQ Management Systems.
Reporting to the Group HSEQSuperintendent, responsibilities will include:
Assist in the development and maintenance of the HSEQ Management System
Providing HSEQ support and guidance on the HSEQ Management Systems to both domestic and international projects across multiple jurisdictions;
Assist with the development and implementation of HSEQ strategies & initiatives;
Development and review of Health, Safety, Environment and Quality documentation at the corporate level;
Leading and participating in Internal HSEQ Audits across the operations;
Ensuring compliance with WHS legislation as well as company policies and procedures;
Leading, facilitating and participating in risk and change management processes;
Preparation of tender documentation as required; and
Preparation of routine reports, including analysis and trending.
To be successful you will have the following skills and experience
Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety;
Strong organisation and computer literacy;
Minimum 5 years of demonstrated experience as a WHS Practitioner, ideally within the resources industry and working within the corporate office environment;
Working knowledge of the Mines Safety Inspection Act (WA) and similar legislation in other states;
Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills;
Experience in HSEQ event management systems such as INCONTROL;
Qualification in incident investigation such as ICAM;
Qualification and experience in Internal HSEQ Management Systems Auditing;
Current "C" Class Western Australian Drivers Licence or equivalent;
A 'can do' attitude with a strong desire to succeed in the role and a passion for health, safety, environment and community;
Strong leadership, interpersonal, communication and engagement skills;
Ability to pass a GSDU; and
Ability to travel domestically and potentially internationally as and when required.
