Macmahon is currently seeking expressions of interest from Senior Mining Engineers/Technical Services Superintendent experienced in open pit gold operations to join the Macmahon team at the Telfer gold mine. To be successful in this position you must have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering or equivalent
  • WA Quarry Manager’s Certificate would be highly desirable
  • Understanding of legal requirements of mining contracts
  • Proficiency in short-term planning utilising RPM Xact (preferred) and mine design software such as Maptek Vulcan (preferred) or similar software packages
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to manage client relationship


  • Minimum of 8 – 10 year post grad experience
  • Minimum of 5 years working in a large scale open pit environment
  • Previous gold experience would be well regarded
  • Previous experience working for a mining contractor would be well regarded

Responsibilities will include:

  • Provide engineering, technical and contract support and assistance to the Mining team
  • Weekly and monthly planning & reporting
  • Ensure compliance with the company and clients standards which will include OHS and environmental policies and procedures
  • Development, mentoring and on-going review of performance of the Technical Services team including graduate engineers
  • Developing accurate mining schedules, plans and designs as required and monitor progress, manning levels and productivity analysis including budget and costs
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, external service providers and internal Macmahon personnel.
