Macmahon is a leading Australian company delivering a comprehensive range of surface mining, underground mining and engineering services to the resources sector throughout Australia and South East Asia.

We are seeking an experienced Organisation Development practitioner to join our Human Resources team at the Perth Office in WA. Be part of a small, high energy team where your multiple skill sets and qualifications will be highly valued.

Role Accountabilities

  • Development of the Macmahon People Brand, required culture and levels of employee engagement to drive required business outcomes. Define and implement tools to measure culture and levels of employee engagement / satisfaction
  • Analyse and present Macmahon culture and engagement levels, implement agreed action plans and conduct follow up.  This will include defining a EVP as a key strategic attraction and retention vehicle, and continually monitoring feedback from current and exiting employees to understand why people are staying with, and leaving the business
  • Define and implement learning strategies to build leadership capability at Supervisor, Superintendent, Manager and Executive levels.
  • Define the suite of assessment tools to assist with the identification / confirmation of potential within the business and ensure these results are considered in  future recruitment processes / succession planning processes
  • Develop vacation student / graduate programs that will feed current and future project requirements for key skill areas
  • Provide a schedule of development opportunities to the business, criteria for attendance, a booking system and a mechanism for recording attendance etc.  This will include proactively enrolling talent, as identified through the succession planning process
  • Deliver or source a provider(s) to deliver development strategies and manage relationships with providers as required
  • Facilitate succession planning for senior roles on a twice yearly basis to present to the Executive Lead Team for endorsement and provide talent and succession planning outcomes to drive retention strategies

Skills & Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in HR or a related discipline
  • Previous experience in a site based / operations role
  • Sound understanding of contemporary organisational development practices
  • Strong influencing skills at a senior leadership level
  • Exceptional organisational skills, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to multi-task
  • Great energy levels, personal resilience and the ability to spend time in remote project locations
