The Telfer Gold Mine site, located in the Great Sandy Desert in the East Pilbara region of Western Australia, produces copper and gold. Macmahon commenced its operations at the Telfer mine site in February 2016 and is delivering the surface drill and blast, load and haul, mobile maintenance and rehandle mine functions.

Macmahon is currently seeking an experienced and motivated Dispatcher to join the Macmahon Telfer team. This position will be on a continuous day and night 8/6, 7/7 roster, flying from Perth.

Committed to developing a culture driven by safety, quality and continuous improvement, your highly developed team work and interpersonal skills, combined with strong technical skills and an eye for continuous improvement opportunities will prove essential in your ability to perform this role.

The main accountabilities will include:

  • Coordinating people, machinery and equipment to achieve optimal production in accordance with mine plan priorities.
  • Serving as central communication personnel for mine production and safety, including emergency events.
  • Capturing, validating and recording mine site data through the modular mining system.
  • Utilising strong working relationships with the shift supervisors to collaborate and optimize the daily mine plan during the shift in response to changing conditions and events
  • Completing shift and production reports in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Fostering a positive and productive working relationship between team members and with other departments.
  • Monitoring effective and efficient mining methods.
  • Completing shift and production reports in an efficient and timely manner.
  • The successful candidate will have had experience working fleet management systems (specifically Modular) and demonstrate strong communication skills. The ability to solve problems, make effective decisions and work as part of a team is essential.

Further skills required:

  • Well-developed time management skills
  • Significant experience with Modular Software is mandatory for this position
  • A strong commitment to ensuring a safe and environmentally healthy workplace
  • Excellent team work and communication skills
  • Proven ability to prioritise and remain effective under pressure
  • The ability/aptitude to maintain high standards of safety

Should you be successful in being offered a role in Macmahons' Surface Mining Division, you will be required to pass a medical and drug and alcohol test along with obtaining a National Police Clearance.
